Sir Alan Patrick Herbert CH (known as A. P. Herbert; 24 September 1890 – 11 November 1971), was an English humorist, novelist, playwright and law reformist. He lived a prominent life and was responsible for many books and plays. To the current audience much of the humour is laboured but one work “Misleading Cases”, which is here, has stood the test of time and continues to amuse and intrigue.
