Better Home Making

Introduction

Better Home Making is a 600 page tome published by Newnes in the 1950’s. It oozes nostalgia and so much is quaint. Most of the articles had appeared elsewhere and so this is a collection more than an original work.

The editor, Beryl Conway Cross, ends her foreword with

“Life has to be well -rounded, not all earnest, not all gay. But it can always be interesting.”

Exactly!
